Convert to

Smallest for photos, opens everywhere. No transparency.

92%

Looks the same as the original. To hit an exact file size, use compress an image to a target size.

#ffffff

JPG can't be see-through, so transparent parts of PNG, WebP and GIF images get this colour.

    How it works

Pick the format you want, then choose your images. Each one is opened by your browser, drawn at its full size and saved again in the new format, all on your device. You can convert up to 30 images at a time and download them one by one or together as a ZIP.

JPG is the most widely accepted format and the smallest for photos, but it has no transparency, so see-through areas are filled with a colour you choose. PNG keeps every pixel and transparency, which suits screenshots, logos and graphics. WebP makes smaller files than JPG with transparency, and AVIF smaller still; the AVIF choice only appears if your browser can save it.

Photos come out upright, as your phone showed them. Images already in the format you chose are handed back unchanged rather than saved again. To change the pixel size, use resize an image to exact pixels; to fit a file size limit, use compress an image to a target size.

    Questions

How do I convert PNG to JPG?

Choose JPG under Convert to, then choose or drop your PNG files. JPG can't be see-through, so transparent parts get the background colour you pick, white unless you change it. Download each JPG, or all of them as one ZIP.

Will converting JPG to PNG make the background transparent?

No. A JPG has no transparency, so the PNG shows the same picture with the same background. The PNG is also usually larger, because PNG keeps every pixel exactly instead of compressing like a JPG.

How do I convert WebP to JPG or PNG?

Choose JPG or PNG, then choose your WebP images. PNG keeps transparency and every pixel; JPG makes smaller files of photos. An animated WebP keeps only its first frame.

How do I convert iPhone HEIC photos to JPG?

Choose JPG and add the photos. Safari opens HEIC itself; other browsers first load a HEIC decoder (about 0.7 MB) from this site, and the photos still stay on your device. Each JPG keeps the photo's full size wherever the device can draw it.

    Does converting lower the quality?

PNG keeps every pixel. JPG, WebP and AVIF are saved at the quality you set, 92% unless you change it, which looks the same as the original for photos. Saving a JPG again loses a little each time, so a file already in the chosen format is handed back unchanged.

    Limits

Opens images up to 50 MB and 100 megapixels, 30 at a time: PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, BMP and, in current browsers, AVIF. iPhone HEIC photos open in every browser: browsers other than Safari can't open HEIC themselves, so the page first loads a HEIC decoder (about 0.7 MB) from this site. SVG drawings aren't converted.

Some browsers, Safari among them, can't save WebP, so it isn't offered in them. Few browsers can save AVIF yet, so that choice is usually missing. WebP files can be at most 16,383 pixels on a side, and phones can draw at most 16.7 megapixels; larger images are made smaller to fit, and the page says so.

Animated GIFs and WebPs keep only their first frame. Saving again removes hidden details such as the camera and location, and the colour profile, so colours from wide-gamut cameras can look slightly duller.
