How it works
Type or paste your text and it appears in 23 styles at once: bold, italic, cursive, gothic, outline, sans-serif, monospace, bubble, squares, small caps, tiny, wide, upside down, strikethrough and underline. Tap Copy next to a style and paste it wherever you want it. That makes it a font changer for places that have no font menu, like an Instagram bio, a Discord name or a post on X, where cool fonts are otherwise out of reach.
Each style swaps your letters for characters that look like them. Bold, italic, cursive (script), gothic (fraktur), outline (double-struck), sans-serif and monospace come from a block of Unicode made for maths, which has a full alphabet in each look; bubble and squares are enclosed letters; small caps and tiny are small letters from phonetic alphabets; and wide uses the full-width letters made for Chinese and Japanese text. Upside down turns each character over and reverses the line. Strikethrough and underline add a line after every character, so they work on any letters, emoji included.
In the bold, italic, cursive, gothic, outline, sans-serif and monospace styles, accents stay on the letters they belong to, so a bold รฉ is a bold e with its accent. The other styles leave accented letters as you typed them, because most fonts draw an accent on a bubble, square, small or wide letter as a box. Characters a style has no look-alike for, like Greek, Cyrillic, Chinese or emoji, are left as you typed them too.
Questions
How do I copy and paste fancy fonts into my Instagram bio?
Type your text, tap Copy next to the style you like, then paste it into your bio, name, caption or comment. The same works for TikTok, X, Discord, WhatsApp and most places that take text. Usernames are the exception on most sites: Instagram's, for example, only allow letters, numbers, full stops and underscores, so styled letters are refused there.
Are these real fonts?
No. The styles are special characters that are part of Unicode, the standard every phone and computer uses for text, which is why they paste anywhere without installing anything. The page doesn't make font files, so it can't add a font to Word, Canva or Photoshop.
Can screen readers read fancy text?
Often not well. Depending on the reader, a styled word may be read letter by letter, read out as character names such as โmathematical bold capital Hโ, or skipped. Search boxes and in-app search usually can't find styled words either. Keep names, links and anything important in plain text, and use a style for a word or two of decoration.
Why do some styles show boxes or question marks?
The phone or computer showing the text has no font that draws those characters. The bold, italic, cursive and bubble styles show almost everywhere; the black squares, the tiny letters and the upside-down capitals are the most likely to be missing on older devices. What looks right on your screen can still look different to someone else, so check it on a second device if it matters.
Limits
The styles change the 26 letters of the English alphabet, and digits where Unicode has them: italic, cursive and gothic have no styled digits. Black bubble and both square styles only come in capitals, so small letters become capitals. Unicode has no small capital Q or X and no tiny q, so those letters stay as they are in small caps and tiny.
Styled text is decoration, not formatting. Screen readers and search often can't read it, some sites refuse it in names and usernames, and a device without the right characters shows boxes. Up to 2,000 characters are styled at a time.
What you type isn't kept anywhere, not even in the page address, so reloading the page clears it.
